GPW strongly recommends that specifiers require applicators to prepare a benchmark sample in accordance with PDCA P5-94 "Benchmark Sample Procedure for Paint and Other Decorative Coating Systems."
Trowel Application
Use a stainless steel or plastic trowel designed to apply decorative plasters. Due to the crushable aggregate, this product will take on a smoother finish with a darker cast the longer it is worked. Minimal troweling will result in a more “peppery” look. A Stainless Steel trowel will aggressively crush the aggregate resulting in a darker finish, with the look of polished stone. The final layer may be
troweled when setting for a smooth finish. Use a light water spray to lubricate the blade while smoothing.
Brush and Roller Application
Thin Weathered Granite with water up to 50% to increase workability.
Tools
Trowel: Use a Stainless Steel or Plastic Trowel specifically designed for applying decorative plasters.
Roller: Use a Textured Roller Cover to transfer impressions to the work surface and then knockdown the peaks.
Brush: Natural white bristle brush preferred.
