Aquathane UV Absorber is a high quality single component water based aliphatic urethane formulated for use as a protective topcoat clear over graphic arts work when resistance to the effects of long-term exposure to sunlight, weather and chemicals is a requirement. It dries to a durable, flexible finish that is abrasion,
weather, gasoline, chemical and ultraviolet resistant. Available in Gloss, Satin and Flat.

Aquathane UV Absorber exhibits excellent adhesion to treated and untreated vinyl, wood, coated metal, plastic and many other substrates. High strength UV protection keeps colors rich and vibrant.

When properly applied Aquathane UV Absorber cures to a "water white", non-yellowing finish and therefore can be used directly on signs, murals, portraits and vinyl graphics. It is ideal for floors. Do not use over Gold Leaf. Non-Flammable, low odor.

SURFACE PREPARATION

All surfaces must be clean, free from loose or peeling paint, grease, oil, dirt, rust, mill scale and other contaminants. If this procedure is not observed, the drying and adhesion of any coating will be adversely affected.

Vinyl Surfaces: Pre-treat surface by wiping with isopropyl alcohol, then allow to dry fully before painting. Because there are many different types of vinyl, it is recommended that Aquathane be tested for suitability before using. To test, apply Aquathane to a small section, then let dry fully (8 hours). Apply a piece of tape to
the coated area, then remove. Coating should not lift with the tape.

Fiberglass, Glass, Ceramic, Other Glossy Surfaces: Solvent wipe to eliminate oil, grease, etc. Slight sanding of surface will be beneficial. Prime with Ronan Prime-All.

APPLICATION

Follow surface preparation instructions. Mix gently before using. Do not shake/do not generate bubbles. If small bubbles persist, reduce with water (5%) to minimize the condition.

Apply by brush, roller or spray. Do not apply in heavy coats. Do not allow wet film to puddle. Excessive build will make the film slightly turbid. For best results, apply two (2) to three (3) thin coats. Allow each coat to dry thoroughly before applying another coat.

Brush with any good quality synthetic bristle brush. May be applied by roller (a short nap industrial roller sleeve will yield the best results. May also be spray applied with equipment intended for waterborne coatings. Refer to spray equipment manufacturer’s recommendations.
