Product Specification

The key to successfully applying Modern Masters Metallic Paint with a roller is the
ability to “back-roll” the finish before it dries. Because of the high solids
(pigments and binders) content and low VOC (volatile organic compound) content
in Modern Masters Metallic Paint, the addition of a slow-drying EXTENDER is
necessary. Extender for Rolling gives extra “wet-edge” time, without thinning
or compromising the integrity of the Metallic Paint.

APPLICATION

To roll Metallic Paint Collection colors, add up to 16 oz./473 ml of Extender for
Rolling to one gallon/3.78 L of Metallic Paint. This addition extends the “wet edge” time necessary to avoid lapping. Use the Modern Masters Metallic Paint Roller for large surfaces. Use a 4” “sausage roller” (e.g. Whizz™) with a 1/2” nap for cutting in corners, ceilings and baseboards. Work in approximately 4’ wide sections. Keep a “wet-edge” and finish the surface by back-rolling in one direction, ceiling to floor.

DRY & RECOAT

16 fl. oz./473 ml of Extender for Rolling mixed with one gallon/3.78 L of Metallic Paint gives approximately 1/2 hour of “wet-edge” time; 1 hour until recoat; 5 hours until dry-to-touch; and 48 hours for full cure. (Drying times were recorded at 75°F/24°C and 73% R.H.)
