Product Specification

Prime-All is a unique waterborne acrylic primer that combines fast dry convenience with outstanding adhesion, sealing, stain blocking, corrosion resistance and protection from weathering. Designed for interior or exterior use, Prime-All features strong bonding properties and excellent leveling and flow characteristics. This high performance coating exhibits excellent adhesion to steel, oxidized (weathered) galvanized metal and aluminum, wood, MDO plywood, cement, fiberglass, concrete, dry wall, plastic, ceramic, glass and many foam
substrates. Its stain killing properties prevent bleed through of water stains, smoke damage, wood tannin, asphalt stains, crayons and most graffiti.

Interior and exterior surfaces. As a primer over unpainted or previously painted surfaces; as a blockout for signs; for blocking stains (PRIME-ALL prevents reds, fluorescents and other staining pigments from bleeding through); as an undercoat for water and oil based topcoats. PRIME-ALL can also be used as a primer or
barrier coat under paints that contain strong (aromatic) solvents such as two-component epoxies or urethanes.

SURFACE PREPARATION

All surfaces must be clean, free from loose or peeling paint, grease, oil, dirt, rust, mill scale and other contaminants. If this procedure is not observed, the drying and adhesion of any coating will be adversely affected.

Previously Painted Surfaces: Dull gloss areas by light sanding to enhance adhesion.

Metal Surfaces: Remove loose rust and scale with a wire brush, steel wool and/or sandpaper. All oil, grease and contamination must be removed. Acidic or alkaline surfaces should be neutralized. Two coats of Prime-All may be necessary to lock in rust completely.

Galvanized Metal and Aluminum: Surface should be wiped with solvent to remove oil and grease. A mild solution of phosphoric acid should be used for etching to assume a good bond. If acids are not available slight surface sanding will be beneficial.

Concrete: A white powdery deposit (efflorescence), often found on concrete and masonry surfaces should be completely removed with a stiff wire brush. New concrete should set four (4) to six (6) weeks before coating. All concrete surfaces should be etched with a solution of four (4) parts water to one (1) part muriatic acid. Let solution soak on surface for 15 minutes before rinsing with clean water. Allow 48 hours to dry before painting.

MDO Plywood: Clean surface to eliminate oil, grease and other contaminants. Prime face with Prime-All. Do not sand primer between coats. All edges should be puttied and then primed with two coats of Prime-All before topcoating.

Dry Wall: One coat should be sufficient. Paint directly over nail heads (rust will not show through because of the corrosion resistant properties of Prime-All.

Masonite: Clean surface to eliminate oil, grease and other contaminants.

Fiberglass, Glass, Ceramic, Other Glossy Surfaces: Solvent wipe to eliminate oil, grease, etc. Slight sanding of surface will be beneficial.

Other Substrates: To test adhesion and suitability, apply Prime-All to a small sample section, let dry fully for eight (8) hours. Apply tape to the coated area, then remove tape. If Prime-All does not lift, then it is suitable as a primer for that particular substrate.

APPLICATION

Follow surface preparation instructions. Stir thoroughly before use. Do not thin. Apply at full strength for maximum stain killing and sealing properties. Can be applied over damp surfaces. Apply by brush, roller or spray.
