Product Specification

Smith’s Color Wall is an excellent tool for creating realistic rockscapes as well as natural color for retaining walls. Smith’s Color Wall incorporates high pigment solids for easily controlled color depth while achieving a more natural, satin appearance vs. traditional concrete stain products. Smith’s Color Wall stains are water submersible, alkali, weather and ultraviolet-light resistant after a minimal drying time of 48 hours with superior adhesion to interior and exterior concrete, brick, plaster, stucco and terra cotta allowing the user to apply this stain to a variety surfaces. Apply a sealer, such as Smith’s Poly-SEAL Low Sheen, to improve the ability to remove mineral build up from water features as well as to improve resistance to wear and water erosion. For more uniform coverage and absorption to smooth cast concrete, use Smith’s Pre-Coat Polymer prior to Smith’s Color Wall and/or replace half of the mix water with Smith’s Base Boost.

*Smith’s Color Wall is not compatible with Methyl Methacrylate (MMA) or penetrating sealers, including but not limited to silicate-based sealers

SURFACE PREPARATION

The surface preparation phase should be viewed as the most important. Proper preparation results in the stains longevity, minimizes potential failures and creates the best environment for an aesthetically pleasing work of art. In short, the more detail and time allotted to this phase of the project will dramatically affect the
appearance and durability of the finished surface.

The surface must be free of all foreign materials that would inhibit the absorption of Smith’s Color Wall stain. Foreign materials include, but are not limited to grease, dirt, glue, previous coatings, and sealer.

Do not use an acid etch as a cleaning method.

DILUTION

Smith’s Color Wall is supplied as a concentrate. The recommended dilution ratio
is 1 part concentrate to 4 parts distilled, deionized or reverse osmosis water. Concentrate will result in ready to use stain by simply stirring mixture. For
application to concrete, Smith’s Base Boost should be used to increase product adhesion and durability. Review Smith’s Base Boost product information for
