Meoded - Marmorino Tintoretto

Marmorino Tintoretto™ can be tinted to any color using Universal tints or machine colorants. Meoded’s natural concentrated “VOC free” pigments are recommended for dark colors.

Marmorino Tintoretto™ yields a high coverage rate due to its thin layers. The coverage of Marmorino Tintoretto™ is in regards to its 2 coat application.
One Quart (1.0 kg (2.2 lbs)) roughly 10 sq ft
One Gallon (5.0 kg (11lbs)) roughly 50 sq ft
One Bucket (20 kg (44lbs)) roughly 200 sq ft

New surface: Prime substrates with PVA acrylic primer and let it dry fully. Apply one coat of Meoded Quartz Primer™, allowing it at least 3-5 hours to dry.

Existing surface: Any surface with sheen should be sanded lightly, cleaned and dust free. Then prime the surface with multipurpose primer and let it dry fully. Next, apply one coat of Meoded Quartz Primer™, allowing it to dry for at least 3-5 hours. Preparation of flat surfaces requires only the application of Meoded Quartz Primer™.

Exterior brown coat: Surface should be pressure washed and clean. When surface is fully dry, apply Meoded Quartz Primer™ diluted up to 25% water. Let it dry for at least 3-5 hours. Over the brown coat, it is recommended to apply three thin coats of Marmorino Palladino™ to get a smooth surface.

Use a stainless steel trowel or spatula. Meoded offers a wide variety of specialty plaster tools including stainless steel trowels and spatulas used to install Marmorino Tintoretto™.

First Coat: Should be applied thinly and evenly, covering the entire wall. It is important to understand that with Marmorino Tintoretto™, any imperfections
from the first coat will be seen in the second coat. To eliminate trowel marks, it is
recommended to use a damp sponge in a circular motion or to continue to clean with the trowel before the Marmorino Tintoretto™ dries. This will prevent you from seeing any natural movement marks on the second coat. In order to see the movement marks on the second coat, leave the first coat as is, spread thinly and
evenly across the wall.

Second Coat (Smooth Finish): If required to smooth, lightly sand the first coat
with 150-220 grit sandpaper before proceeding and clean the dust. Apply second coat in the same manner as first coat. When material is still moist, smooth surface repeatedly with clean trowel. After 5 minutes, burnish the surface by holding the trowel at about a 40 degrees angle and keep smoothing with pressure until required sheen and smoothness level is achieved. Avoid formation of dark trowel marks.

Second Coat (Distressed Finish): Apply material in patches leaving gaps to reveal
first coat. Smooth surface repeatedly with clean trowel. When material has set sufficiently, trowel again until required smoothness is achieved. Avoid formation of dark trowel marks.

After a minimum of 48 hours of dry time, it is recommended to protect the product with either a sealer or wax. It is recommended to use Meoded’s penetrating sealer to provide the finish with protection from moisture and dirt, while not adding sheen or changing the color. If sheen is desired, it is recommended to apply Meoded’s Hydrowax™, which will add a low sheen finish on top of the Tintoretto™. Hydrowax™ is only for interior finishes while the sealer can be used both interior and exterior.

Remove temporary protection, such as masking tape and covers. Clean up spills and splatters using methods that will not damage the surfaces.
