Modern Masters - Tintable Glaze

Tintable Glaze should be applied over a previously painted and fully cured, 100% acrylic semi-gloss latex surface. The surface should be clean and sound.

NOTE: Not intended for use over oil base finishes.

Tintable Glaze can be tinted using standard universal colorants. Stir in colorants to fully incorporate them into the glaze.

NOTE: Always test the product in a small, inconspicuous area before beginning a project. We recommend preparing a sample board prior to beginning a project to check color and technique. The glaze should be mixed thoroughly before using.

Tintable Glaze can be applied by brush, roller or other decorative tool. Do not apply when air and surface temperature are below 50ºF (10ºC) or high humidity
conditions exist. Optimal application conditions are 50-80ºF (10-27ºC) and 30-60% relative humidity.

The thicker Tintable Glaze is applied, the longer it will stay “open” and workable. Generally the glaze will stay “open” for one hour, depending on color concentration, film thickness and humidity. The cooler and more humid the air, the longer the glaze will stay wet.

Do not clean an unprotected glazed surface with harsh chemicals. Surfaces that will be handled should be protected with two coats of Modern Masters Dead Flat
Varnish for interior surfaces. All exterior surfaces should be protected with Exterior Dead Flat Varnish. Follow the instructions on the container label.

The colored glaze will dry to an eggshell sheen in approximately 3 hours and fully cure in 36 hours.

NOTE: Lower temperature and/or higher humidity will lengthen the dry and cure times.

Approximately 150-200 sq. ft./qt., 13.9-18.5m²/946 mL.

Clean tools with soap and warm water immediately after use. Promptly wipe up any spills and splatters with a damp cloth. Do not reuse containers and properly dispose of empty containers.
