Smith’s CT-8 Cleaner & Toughener is a dual purpose product designed for the preparation of exterior textured concrete surfaces to receive Smith’s Decorative Concrete Products including Smith’s Color Floor., Color Wall and Color Accents. Initially, Smith’s CT-8 acts as a detergent to clean the concrete surface. Secondly, Smith’s CT-8 toughens the surface of the concrete by interacting with weak spots created by un-reacted calcium hydroxide.

SURFACE PREPARATION

The surface preparation phase of “Staining a Concrete Floor” should be
viewed as the most important. Proper floor preparation results in the product’s longevity, minimizes potential failures and creates the best environment for an aesthetically pleasing work of art. In short, the more detail and time allotted to
this phase of the project will dramatically affect the appearance and durability of the finished floor.

DILUTION

Smith’s Cleaner & Toughener, CT-8 is supplied as a powder. Dissolve 1 cup of
CT-8 powder into 1 gallon of water. Warm water will help the CT-8 powder to dissolve quickly.
